about

my story

Hello! Welcome to The Imaginary Camera. If you’re asking yourself who am I and why I call myself just a camera then this page is just right for you.
My name is Trista O’Connor and I am a Fine Art Photographer. As a kid I had a passion for taking photos and creating what my mind imagined. My family always said I had an active imagination. Which then led to the name TheImaginaryCamera being born. Throughout my entire life photography has always been there. It has been my outlet to express what I feel. It has always been my dream. I then went to college for it at Arcadia University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Photography.
The type of work I produce is a reflection of what is happening inside of my own mind, moments of isolation, odd mysteries, feelings of abandonment. All these photos have life to them I think of them as the voice to my imagination. I create photographs in various mediums such as digital manipulation, cyanotypes, and black and white photography. Each medium I use magnifies the story that the image is telling. Most of my photographs are supposed to make the viewer confused, sometimes relaxed or curious.
Now you know the story of TheImaginaryCamera and I’m glad that the internet has brought you here.
